Making big, exciting plans for the future of the farm right now. Sort of cementing our stay small mantra, while allowing more freedom in how we do things. Here’s hoping it all works out.
On pasture and moving daily.
Happened upon a bee swarm a few nights ago, just before dark. Had about ten minutes to change into the bee suit and attempt a capture. They seem to have accepted it as a new home, so I’ll get them moved and add a second level so they have a wee bit more space. No idea if it will work, but worth a try.
Our confidence in all the cows being pregnant is increasing by the day. Atti was new on the job, so there’s always a bit of a question mark. Timing is still suspect - I think one will for sure have a late summer babe, but the others? It’s more of a guessing game than I’d like.
From the land of better late than never: approximately 100 pounds of potatoes and and who knows - a hundred or two melon seeds.
Slow but sure progress
